Dylan Thornton competes in IMCA Clash on the Coast

Dylan Thornton made the trip south to Florida this past weekend, where a two-day event at Southern Raceway served as a tune-up for the IMCA Clash On The Coast.

Still getting acclimated to the track’s sandy surface on Friday, Thornton posted a 12th-place finish. He settled in on Saturday, backing up a runner-up finish in his heat race with a strong charge from eighth to fourth in the feature.

Following a Sunday practice session, the IMCA Clash On The Coast officially opened on Monday at Blackwater Speedway (formerly Northwest Florida Speedway). Thornton carried his momentum into the $1,000-to-win feature, advancing from 12th to finish fifth.
