Thornton enters Wild West Shootout at CAR
Dylan Thornton’s 2026 season officially got underway this past weekend as the Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout returned to its Arizona roots at Central Arizona Raceway.
Thornton’s weekend began on a sour note Saturday when an expired engine during hot laps sidelined him for the remainder of the program.
With assistance from fellow teams throughout the pit area, Thornton rebounded on Sunday by charging from fourth to first in his B-Main to secure a spot in the feature. He was running fifth in the main event when a broken suspension brought his night to an end on lap 19.
