Thornton invades Cedar Lake Speedway for USA Nationals
Dylan Thornton returned to the seat of the Kay Motorsports No. 38T Late Model over the weekend to take on the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series in the 38th annual USA Nationals at Wisconsin’s Cedar Lake Speedway.
A fifth-place finish in his B-Main on Thursday ended his bid for a spot in the opener, though Thornton showed improved speed by Friday. After qualifying 12th-fastest in his 25-car group, he came up one position short of a transfer with a fifth-place finish in his heat.
Turning his attention to Saturday’s B-Main for a final shot at advancing into the $100,000-to-win USA Nationals finale, Thornton’s sixth-place effort brought his weekend to an early close.
