Fifth-place finish with Southern All Stars at Mountain View Raceway

After making his DIRTcar Summer Nationals debut with a 12th-place finish at Farmer City Raceway, Dylan Thornton returned to Hell Tour action on Tuesday at Benton Speedway, piloting the Race DRT No. 13 Late Model.

His run ended in the B-Main that night, prompting a shift in focus to Wednesday’s stop at Spoon River Speedway. There, Thornton advanced to the feature through a B-Main and went on to finish 20th.

After falling short of a transfer spot on Thursday at LaSalle Speedway, Thornton turned Friday into a productive test session with another visit to Farmer City Raceway. The night was successful, as he raced to a runner-up finish in the 25-lap feature, crossing the line just 0.257 seconds behind winner Myles Moos.

Capping the week with a trip to Tennessee’s Mountain View Raceway on Saturday, Thornton joined the Southern All Star Series and qualified directly into the $5,000-to-win A-Main via time trials. He wrapped up the weekend with a strong fifth-place finish in the feature.
